I'm
often asked if a photograph can give you an insight into music. It's
difficult to generalise. If you look at a series of pictures of a
particular genre, they might. For example, when you are on the road
with a band you are making a documentary which will reveal different
aspects of the band. |

The series of photographs will give you more insights

Annie Leibovitz's work with the Rolling Stones in the 70s and more
recently Jill Furmonovsky on the road with Oasis are good examples.
A single still might well give you an atmosphere, but the series of
photographs will give you more insights and, of course, more information.
That can include shocking and disturbing images. |
